Did you know that if Council paid parking is introduced to your street then you could be permanently precluded from ever having parking in your front garden? Whereas, if you apply and receive permission for parking in your garden now you'd be entitled to your parking space permanently.
So don't delay and apply now!
Front Garden Parking
Do you have a front garden that could accommodate a carparking space but just needs a vehicular entrance?
Such scenarios require planning permission.
Contact us today to see if this is possible and/or to see how much it might cost to do so.
When do I need permission?
Planning permission is always required in Ireland to create a new vehicular entrance at a property.
Do I need planning permission to widen an existing entrance?
Yes.
How do I know if the Planning Authority will give permission?
The answer to this is difficult to define and largely subject to the context of the particular street.
If there are a number of permissions granted for similar developments in the area then there is a good chance that the Planning Authority will similar grant permission for driveway entrance.
However, localities which are in architectural conservation areas might not be suitable for new vehicular entrances.
What is footpath dishing and how do I arrange for its installation?
Footpath dishing is when the footpath is altered (sloped) to allow a vehicle cross into a property.
The process varies depending under which Local Authority the site lies.
The Planning Authority will only permit the work after planning permission has been granted.
Who are we and what we do?
We're a Dublin based architectural practice with 17 years experience.
We will produce a set of drawings of the work that requires retention planning permission and then put together a full application including public notices, application forms etc. and lodge the application to the local authority.
If required we can issue Opinions on Compliance. We're registered with the RIAI and have full professional indemnity insurance.
How much does it cost?
Our fee will depend on the extent of work required; contact us for a quick quote:
Each application also has the following fixed expenses:
- €34 fee payable to the local authority.
- €59 payable to the Ordnance Survey Ireland for a planning map.
- €172 for a newspaper notice.
How to start?
Fill out the contact form with your property address, email address, name and number and we will then send you a quote within a few hours. If it's agreeable we can have the application ready to lodge within a few days.
